I want to create and save a macro in my Personal Macro Workbook so I can use it each time I create a new spreadsheet in Excel. When I try to create and save the macro in my Personal Macro Workbook, I get this message and the macro is not saved: "Personal Macro Workbook in the startup folder must stay open for recording." What am I doing wrong? Please help. And thank you in advance.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
is your personal workbook open while you record the macro? I doubt you could record and save your macro in it if it wasn't open unless someone has some seriously advanced code out there !

Open up your personal book and try agian
