Hi,
I am writing a VBS to import the text into Excel. The problem is whenever my data is in the form of '01-7008', it imports into Excel as 'Jan-08'.

Please help.
Thanks
Quinn

Not sure exactly what you are asking. You said they are of format 01/10/01, but that they were also serial numbers?

If you just want the month out of the date row, you can use =Month(A1).

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
oh boy... that was easy. I was trying to use =LEFT(A1,2) and for 01/10/01 it was returning '36' (the first two digits of the serial number for 01/10/01), no matter what format I tried for the date column. oh well.. =Month worked much better. thanks KKKnie!
