Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.

Goto Tools > Options > General
If clear the Textbox that says

Check your C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeXLStart folder. Any .XLS files in here will be started when you open Excel. You may have your default directory for saving Excel files set to here!
