You can use Datedif. Datedif is in nearly all versions of Excel but it was only documented in Excel2000.
With Date of Birth as a valid date and that cell named DOB use the formula below. Use a second date such as TODAY or the date that you cited (07/01/2002); note you can use cell references. If you want all the information in one cell with text, consider
=DATEDIF(DOB,TODAY(),"Y")&" years, "&DATEDIF(DOB,TODAY(),"ym")& " months, and "&DATEDIF(DOB,TODAY(),"md") &" days"
You can extract the sub parts and have each part in a separate cell.
Note: There are some anomalies with the day calculations.
