Empolyees are scheduled to work with their lunch breaks. To make sure there is at least one person to cover, I like to visually see the bars which represent their work hours so that I can schedule lunch breaks properly.
For example:
Person A is scheduled from 8:00 to 12:00 lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 and back to work from 1:00 to 5:00
Person B is scheduled from 8:00 to 1:00 lunch break from 1:00 to 2:00 and back to work from 2:00 to 5:00
Please help me with VBA code to automatically represent these work hours by highlighting in different columns?

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Hi and welcome to MrExcel.

I think that you need to give a bit more information here.
Who decides which lunch period someone has?
Does this change daily?
If it's you, then perhaps this simple NONE VBA solution will work for you...

Sample data and example results using Condtional Formatting....

Excel Workbook
ABCDEFGHIJKL
108:0009:0010:0011:0012:0013:0014:0015:0016:0017:00
2Person AX
3Person BX
4
Sheet1

I have filled ALL the cells green and set Conditional Formatting for any cell that contains an X, you could use Lunch, Break or any other word you choose.

I hope that helps, if not, then you really do need to provide us with a lot more information, preferably with some sample data and your expected results.

Hi,

You cannot attach a file, but you can post sample data using one of the links in my signature.
