Opening saved file displays error: already open.

I am having a problem with multiple workstations on LAN running Office/Excel 97 under Windows 2000 Pro. When an saved excel doc is opened, an error message is displayed: "A document with the same name is already opened. Please close the document and try again." The user may then proceed normally, with the document open and fully functional. It seems as though Excel is trying to open the file twice? I have tried reinstalling Office 97, copying the registry keys from a working machine to an affected machine, and checking the alternate startup folder to make sure it is blank. Antivirus definitions are also up-to-date. I could not find anything pertaining to this type of problem on Microsoft's knowledge base. Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
you need to go into windows , Run, under the Start menu, and type:

excel.exe /regserver

This will force Excel to re-register itself and its components,
solving the "double opening" file problem.

Thanks for your replies. The /regserver parameter worked great. Not sure what was causing this problem in the first place, but I have since added the fix to the network login script so I'll never hear about it again. :>
