Is there a way I can restrict no. of characters in a cell - I have a series of cells I need to restrict user input to 2 caracters, and one to 4 characters.

Tried it with LEN, but didn't work.

Thanks

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

Have a look at Data|Validation with Text length for Allow.

i think you can do this with data validation (data menu). select 'text length' on the settings tab and less than or equal to 2, or 4 or whatever
