macro's assigned to buttons

I've created custom buttons and assigned macro's to them. Recently when I click on the buttons I get the following error: "A document with the name Personal.xls is already open" to fix it I just reassign the macro to the button but it's getting a little cumbersome. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
