Period as separator in mins:secs time

I am working with data in the mm:ss format, minutes & seconds, never hours. Can I format cells and/or enter data using a period instead of a colon as the separator? And if so, how do I set this? Working with time in this manner is new for me. TIA. =)

Sure. Format as hh.mm if you like.

If you change your Regional Settings. See the Excel Help Index topic for "Tips on entering dates and times".
