Is there anyway to sort a table without sorting the cell formats?

I have a table where each line is an alternating shade so its easier to read, but when I sort, it sorts the colors too, so they're no longer alternating.

If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Use Conditional formatting based on the row number to shade your rows.

These formulas can be used with conditional formatting to shade alternate rows.

=MOD(ROW()-Rw,N*2)+1<=N This is for odd banding

=MOD(ROW()-Rw,N*2)+1>=N This is for even banding

Rw = Starting Row Number

N = Number of rows in each band
