Have to Click twice on Combo Box for it to Enter

I have a combo box and when I select a item it turns the selection Blue and I have to click again to get it to enter.
How can I get it to enter with one click?

you have to click to action the drop down and then you click to choose an entry... if your choice is the default text and if you've put processing behind the click event you will still have to do the same thing to trigger the event
