HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! read only error

i have created a excel spreadsheet which i have emailed to someone, imeediatley i did theis my computer crashed and i have no back up, the email has been returned to me but wont open and says it read only, the properties box says it isnt, how can i recover this essential work!!!
please help i can email the file if needed

please help a desperate man

You can try this one.

Open an new sheet, and make a formula in this sheet that refers to the sheet you can't open. Normally seen you have to get you data from the broken sheet.

sounds like the file is curupted somewhere

you say will not open, suggest open in non excel program see if can read,

if so send to another PC and open, save as new name and back up..
