Can anyone tell me how to change the column label? For example, I want to change Column "A" to Column "Name". I thought I knew, but I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance.

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
click column "A", then click Insert/Name/Define and then type the name

alternatively, you can click column "A" and then click on the cell reference identifier, then type the name directly.

Go to Tools > Options > General (tab)

Check R1C1 reference style for numbers, uncheck for letters.

OK, so by following these directins, I can name the columns and I can make the labels show either A-Z or numbers. How can I get the names of the columns to appear instead of letters and numbers?

Hi and welcome to the board.

You can only have your columns appears A;B;C etc. or 1;2;3 etc.
Use row 1 to house field names.

Hi and welcome to the board!

What do you mean by 'cell reference identifier'? Where is this found in earlier versions?
