    Default V Lookup

    could someone please advise formular for a sheet in excel,
    to lookup on another sheet in same work book,
    if sheet 2 finds same code in sheet 1,
    then sheet 2 cell to appear red.

    can a sheet 3, look up sheet 1 and 2 ?

    use Vlookup to return a value and use conditional formatting to format the cell red as in use the equal to value and enter FOUND

    =IF(NOT(ISNA(Vlookup(valuetofind, Sheet1!A1:D2000,4,false)))),"FOUND","")

    =IF(OR(NOT(ISNA(Vlookup(valuetofind, Sheet1!A1:D2000,4,false))),NOT(ISNA(Vlookup(valuetofind, Sheet2!A1:D2000,4,false)))),"FOUND","")
