Is there a way than I can protect a sheet, and still enable the end user to be able to sort an array of data?

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
The only way to do something like that would be VBA. If the sort is always done on the same column, you should be able to setup a custom button to unprotect the worksheet, sort, and protect the sheet again. Let me know if you are interested.

Also if you have Excel XP there are a lot of options for protection. You can protect and still allow sorting among other things.
