Code:
A B C D E
Job # Employee Hours Cost Percentage
1 M 0.9 317.22 32.97
1 C 1.83 317.22 67.03
2 M 0.9 385.77 49.72
2 C 2.42 385.77 72.89
3 C 0.91 210.32 50.28
3 M 0.9 210.32 49.72
I have a "formula" that figures out the PERCENTAGE of a job that worked by TWO employees (M and C). The COST is duplicated as WHOLE under each employee even though they only worked a PERCENTAGE of the WHOLE. The formula works fine...but...I need it to be a decimal so I can calculate it into another formula. IF I change my percentage of 32.97 to PERCENT using FORMAT it comes out to 3297% instead of 33% or what would ALSO be acceptable would be .3297

Formula used for the PERCENTAGE column is =ROUND((($C7/SUMIF($A$2:$A$7,$A7,$C$2:$C$7))*100),2)

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Can't you just remove the *100 part of the formula and format the cell as a percentage?

This. Not only will it provide the percentage but it will also allow you to predetermine the number of decimal places (if any) you want to go to when rounding.

You are right. I apparently didn't understand what that 100 was for but it functioned like I wanted when I replicated it. Thank you and I apologize for my dumbness. SIGH...Sometimes it's simplicity that's right before your eyes that's hardest to see.
