Good morning,

I am sure I used to have Excel help on my system but if I select an item in VBA and press F1 I always get sent online to help file, Is there something I should have installed?

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
In the bottom right corner you will see Connected to Office.com. Click it and click Show content only from this computer.
F1 should default to the last setting used.

Hi Dryver14,
I had this problem a few times....

_ This usually works:

_ Get Into VB Development Window ( Alt F11 )
_ Hit F1 (when in VB Development Window)
_ You should see this

<a href="http://s1065.photobucket.com/user/DocAElstein/media/HelpWindow_zpsqmn5qno2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u400/DocAElstein/HelpWindow_zpsqmn5qno2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo HelpWindow_zpsqmn5qno2.jpg"/></a>

_ Click bottom left, and Select the appropriate option ( Not the online one )

Well,

This is fun, I just upgraded only 100 quid (Vomit). no difference, I am now on excel 2016 but I don't get an option to go offline, it just opens up on line.
Is it possible I always have to be online now to access things like object Library?

Hmm, can't speak for 2016 (happy with my 2010) but the 2007 it should definitely work with. Not home to dig my old laptop with 2007 out but sure there wasn't any issue with it.

The old pre 2007 help files were better and if you wanted them you had to do a download but I am sure I didn't do anything extra with 2007 and definitely didn't with my current 2010.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Sorry i can't help more either. I just tried again in XL 2007 and on another computer with XL 2010... and all is well.

Maybe if you can, "pull the plug" on yout internet connection and see if anything changes

No worries Mark, thanks for the research, I am sure the answer is there somewhere. I did prefer the layout of the offline help better than the online
