What is the easiest way to determine if for Cell A1 contains a particular text? The cell most likely will contain one or two 2 to 3 character words separated by commas I don't care where my search text is in the cell, I just want to know is it there?

Thanks

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Try

=COUNTIF(A1,"*particulartext*")>0

True means particulartext exists within A1
False means it doesn't.

This will return FALSE when the string of interest in not found, TRUE when it is.

Code:
=ISNUMBER(SEARCH("stringofinterest",A1))

NOTE: the above formula is NOT case sensitive. If you prefer the string of interest to be case sensitive, replace SEARCH with FIND.
