Hi, Excel 2013 keeps defaulting my Number Format to Currency (euros). I live in the UK so this isn't correct, plus I would prefer it just defaults to General and then I make the change myself.

How do I change the global setting for this?

Much appreciated.

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Hi, I see...

the number format is 'Currency' under normal styles, can I change that?

Thanks

On the Home tab right click Normal in the Styles Group and choose Modify.

OMG!! Thank You so much!.. I have been searching for the solution all over the internet and their are hundreds of misleading posts. This one works fine. Let me brief my problem and what i was looking for so It may bring seekers to the right post. So basically Drill down results ( When I could double click on Pivot table value cell) would auto reformat it to currency and everytime I had to manually fix the formatting. I was wondering what is causing this and where I can fix the default formatting of Pivot table drill down. And the Answer is ( Big thanks to Andrew Poulsom).. is cell styles.. After modifying the cell style to General. My pivot table is at least maintaining a normal format. Regards.

Is there a way to set the default formats for the ribbon buttons for currency and numbers?
Excel defaults to Accounting when clicking on the $ button. I would prefer the default setting to be Currency.
Same question for the comma (,) button. Default has two decimal places and I would prefer none. The solution you provided in this thread to modify the Normal Style can only be applied to one of those as a default format in the Style.
