  HELP ME PLEASE!!!
We have recently upgraded to Office 2003 and now when we send a file from MYOB to Excel the dates have changed to month/day/year for less than day 12 and text for day more than 12. I just can't seem to work out what to do so I can pickup the correct date dd-mmm-yy format in another spreadsheets formula!!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone who can help me thank you in advance

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
I suggest you check your Regional Settings in Control Panel.

How are you sending the file from MYOB to Excel?

Call MYOB support (assuming that you have paid support fees). You may have to upgrade MYOB to work with Office 2003.

Both MYOB and Office 2003 have been upgraded in the last few weeks and our regional settings are all correct as far as we can see.

When we look at at the report in MYOB all the dates are correct, we then choose the option to send the report to Excel. when we open Excel that is where the dates have changed format.

If anyone has experienced this problem could they please tell me how to fix it. In the meantime I will contact MYOB support to see if they can help too.

:
Thanks so far

I think you'll find that the problem is with the MYOB template -- they have made some wacky layout choices, and may have chosen to use American date formats in the template (given that they also sell in the US market).
Try reformatting the date column as General, which hopefully will turn it to a long integer. That can be formatted as a date in your existing Excel file.

Alternatively, try a different export format such as .csv -- you may find that the dates don't get tampered with under those conditions.

Long shot, but it may help...
