Hello!
My Unprotect button is grayed out for the worksheets that I just set up with a password to protect them. What could I have done for it to gray out completely? I have the password but I am not given the option to enter it!!! Ahhh! Help please!

"Remove protection from a worksheet

1.On the Review tab, in the Changes group, click Unprotect Sheet (gray!!!):ROFLMAO:.

The Changes group on the Review tab

Note: The Protect Sheet option changes to Unprotect Sheet when a worksheet is protected."

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Hi,

It's possible you somehow "Grouped" the sheets.

Right click on any sheet tab, select "Ungroup Sheets"

Solved the problem.

- Unshare the workbook by selecting "Share Workbook" under Review Tab

- In Editing tab uncheck "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time."

- Select "Unprotect Sheet" under Review Tab

- Provide password to unprotect sheet

I just wanted to thank you for this - that's exactly what happened with a slip of typing somehow, to my spreadsheet. It was driving me crazy but I found your post and fixed it. I registered to this site just to thank you :)
