I have a spreadsheet with numerous lines of Data. Is there a way to find out the first row instance of a text phrase, lets say "Assembly" for grins and then the last row where it finds the same text "Assembly"

Appreciate your help

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
This should do it

1st
=MATCH("Assembly",A:A,0)
last
=MAX(("assembly"=A:A)*MATCH(ROW(A:A),ROW(A:A)))
BUT enter this as an array using
control +shift +enter
to get {}
{=MAX(("assembly"=A:A)*MATCH(ROW(A:A),ROW(A:A)))}
