Hi guys,

I'm a manager at a company where we're not using utilising data enough to demonstrate the impact of the work we're doing. I'd like to do some excel training to develop skills that will help.

I'm a fairly basic user that knows some formulas mainly around home finances. Autosum and other basics. I don't know an awful lot about vlookup and other functions sumif, index, pivot tables though I obviously know of this functions.

Could somebody recommend a site (im happy to pay if needed) or training course for me to improve my skills?

Thanks in advance

I can recommend a free method. Watch videos on youtube from these two excellent channels. You will learn at a geometric rate if you devote a couple hours per day to observation and practice --- guaranteed.

ExcelIsFun: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkndrGoNpUDV-uia6a9jwVg

The ExcelIsFun channel contains links in the video description that allow you to download the very workbooks Mike is using in the videos.

You can also use sample data of your own to learn the principles and techniques. Then come back to this forum to have your questions answered. You can download sample data that lends itself well to learning purposes from all kinds of websites: I choose to learn by tinkering with stock market data, weather data and sports data.
