USING ACCESS ONLY TO GENERATE REPORTS AND QUERIES. I CAN LINK EXCEL TO ACCESS AND MAKE CHANGES, BUT CANNOT MAKE CHANGES IN ACCESS BACK TO EXCEL WITHOUT IMPORTING AND EXPORTING (SIGH ACCESS LOST THE LAWSUIT)

sorry caps was on ....... Need VBA to allow editing from either program, escpecially from Access back to excel.

Thanks.

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
There are 2 methods that I know of. One is called Automation, the other is the TransferSpreadsheet method, which in spite of its name, will export an Access table or query to Excel, or a spreadsheet to Access. The latter is simpler, I think. There's a gazillion code examples out there for either method already so it doesn't seem logical to manually reinvent the wheel here - especially for Automation. It's much more complicated.
This one
is just one of those many sites available.
