Hey Everyone,

Not sure if this is the best place to post this or not, but I am trying to place a MS Access database on sharepoint then have excel run a query to pull data out of it. (Not sure if maybe the excel forum is better suited)

The issue i am running into, is when I change the connection string to the Sharepoint location I get the following error.

Code:
DataFormat.Error: The supplied file path must be a valid absolute path.

Local Database (Working)
Code:
let
    Source = Access.Database(File.Contents("C:\Users\(User.Name)<user.name>\OneDrive - (User.Name)<user.name>\Field Sales DB.accdb"), [CreateNavigationProperties=true]),
    _test = Source{[Schema="",Item="test"]}[Data],

SharePoint Database (Error)
Code:
let
    Source = Access.Database(File.Contents("https://(SharePoint)<sharepoint>/sites/CBU-NLFieldSales/Shared%20Documents/Field%20Mgmt/Field_Sales_DB.accdb"), [CreateNavigationProperties=true]),
    _test = Source{[Schema="",Item="test"]}[Data],

Is this a limitation with Access/Excel and SharePoint or am I just doing something dumb?

Thanks!

Matt</sharepoint></user.name></user.name>

Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
It's expecting a file path, not an http address. If the Sharepoint site is on your network, can you find out what the UNC name is of the folder where the Access database is located?

I've done something similar with a Sharepoint site on the company network and I managed to find the UNC name from the site admin.
