Hi All,
Just need to bounce an idea off you all and wondered if and how i could get round this issue.

I have built a form that contains the serial number of a product that has come into repair.

What i want to be able to to is to have a list of parts that make up this single product but have the option of saying if a part was scrapped or reused and how many of each part (a product could contain multiples of the same part Eg screw)

EG
Part Number Scrap Reused Qty
Part1 yes 2
Part2 yes 1
Part3 yes 1
Part2 yes 1

Hope this makes sense and i know its a big ask and i thank you all in advance for reading this

Regards

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Hi,

As long as you have the basic info stored in a sheet ... it will be possible ...!!!

You appear to have 4 column headings and only 3 fields.?
Depending on which is the least, (let's say Scrapped for now), I'd probably look to record only those, so everything else is reused.?

It will be easier and faster if you could post your workbook for download. That helps to not re-create what you already have and re-create it wrong.

www.dropbox.com ; google cloud, amazon cloud, etc.

Well I would still look at if you only have two states, if you log one, then the one not logged is the other state.?
Thinking along the lines of keeping track of parts renewed, then I would be thinking of recording those replaced.

So a product could have 25 parts, but only two are replaced? That would then tally in with any stock control you have, knowing you need to order 2 more?

Good luck with it anyway. :D

Hi All
sorry for delay in getting back to you all but trying to get a new ******* fitted just before xmas (wife thought it would be a good idea)

Any way i have knocked together a excel version of what i am trying to create.
Tab one is representing the end user form
Tab two is representing the table that sits behind with the part name and price of a single unit

i have put the excel on drop box which can be reached with the link below

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6azllyjlp5bt709/form idea.xlsx?dl=0

Hope this makes sense as i am still banging my head against the ******* wall, which as you may agree isnt going down well with the wife

Not sure I even understand that.
Product1 is £0.91 yet you have two reused as £1.81. Scrapped is £2.72 for 3, yet should be £2.73?
Surely if you reuse something, there is no cost.?
