I am trying ELoolup and I saw BTW I am self taught
with the exception of help by sites like this
I'm gratful
why ELookup because it gives error msg DLookup no
so
THIS WORKS OUTSIDE A SUB PROC but not a Proc IE:: ELookup
It worked before I changed code but I do dumb things
TblL = "Msdl"
TblH = "Msdh"
RkT = "ML"
RL = DLookup("PCT", TblL, "RkT = [RkT] ")
RH = DLookup("PCT", TblH, "RkT = [RkT] ")

HERE "COMPILE ERROR ByRef argument type missmatch
does not like tblL or tblH
RL = ELookup("PCT", TblL, "RkT = [RkT] ")
RH = ELookup("PCT", TblH, "RkT = [RkT] ")
The table has 2 fields RkT & PCT

I looked at all the ELookup posts and they seem to involve a function
and were complex
do I need a function to return the table byRef?
I understood useing ByRef was not good usally
Thank you

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
I think your syntax is wrong....maybe:
DLookup("PCT", TblL, "[RkT] = 'RTK'")

the last param is the FIELD in brackets, then the value around quotes.
