Using OneDrive or SharePoint as a file source for PowerPivot

I'm working in PowerPivot and my linked source files come from a sync folder referencing my C drive. I'd like to source them from a shared location so my PowerPivot file will look to the shared location for new data when other users refresh the file. I can't find how to access the OneDrive folder directly as a source to PowerPivot linked Excel tables. When I try to type the URL and go the file directly on OneDrive, I get a syntax error and can't proceed. Any thoughts on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Excel 2016 and OneDrive/Sharepoint are business accounts.

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
I'm not sure I can help you but I might be able to offer a workaround. Our organization had to stop using the sync feature because it was so buggy. Instead, I suggest mapping the SharePoint OneDrive to a drive letter. The syntax is tricky - what works for us is something along the lines of:

\\mydrive.mycompany.com@ssl\DavWWWRoot\personal\mycorpID

Once the drive is mapped it should work. Good luck.
