Hi,
I have 2 tables:
1. Massive system extract
2. Small self-made Criteria Table with columns whose values are to be used to flag rows of note in the system extract with a "type" label (e.g. "Joint-Venture", "Cash", "Bonus"...etc)
I want to do 1 single merge operation because the person I am working with freaks at anything other than a merge or "group by" in Power Query and I need to suggest I am "keeping it simple"
Problem is some columns in the criteria table are not relevant for each "type" . Is there a away I can specify a "match all"/"wildcard" character in those columns in my small criteria table which are not relevant for labeling a particular "type"? (If I were to specify every sub type in the not-relevant tables I get 1. a long list and 2. generate all manner of normalization issues for my model inputs).
Back up solution is more table joins but I don't want that.
Thanks!!!
Andy
