My understanding is that in Excel 2016 if you keep the focus on the datamodel the workbook pivots should NOT refresh. However my model refreshes pretty much ever time I enter anything in the datamodel which is making it extremely tiresome trying to build out the formulae. Is there some setting I could have changed by accident as would like to get back to the default behaviour i.e. no refresh unless i change focus to the workbook?

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Check: Data - Connections - Properties - ...
I assume there is no any VBA

sorry this is not refreshing the data this is refreshing the pivot tables. One extremely annoying feature of Excel 2013 was that every time you hit enter in the data model the pivots refreshed. OLAP Extensions fixed this issue but allowing you to disable the pivot refresh. They fixed this in Excel 2016 and usually this is the case, but in this model it doesn't stop it. So i'm trying to write a bunch of measures and in the background the pivot tables start to refresh stopping me working. I have to go to the workbook and hit escape 30 times to kill off the pivot refresh.
