Hi, i am a very happy user of Powerpivot, but i have one question:

I use the Calculated field in Excel to for example calculate the price per unit, by dividing the total costs with the number of units. If calculate this division with a column in the Table, it will not give a correct result, as it will be a average of the price per unit ,but without weighing the costs and numbers of units.

As Powerpivot does not have this feature enables, is it therefore unsuitable for my use?

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
If you have PowerPivot, you should be able to create a measure to calculate the same as a calculated field in a normal pivot table. Doing it as a calculated column in a table wouldn't make sense if you want it weighted.
