Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum but have spent a lot of time reading through other's posts, which are often very helpful. I haven't found a definitive answer to the following question and hoping you all might be able to provide some guidance. I am pretty new to Power Pivot - thank you in advance for your patience.

I am trying to conduct same store sales on a database that looks like the below (as an example). Is it possible to set up a single measure (without using calculated columns) which could then be leveraged in a pivot table to do year over sales increases for a given filter (e.g. by name, year)?

Thank you so much!

Louis

A2012 7

Thank you Alan for your response! I'm hoping to get a % value for year over year increase, which can't be done in pivot tables, so I want to leverage an explicit measure to do this. I know that you can do it by setting up additional calculated columns, but want to try and achieve this with the use of explicit measure(s).

Thank you

Louis

I don't know the term explicit measure. Suggest you post a mocked up version of what your expected results are.

Explicit measures are created in the power pivot calculated values section whereas implicit measures are created using expressions in pivot tables.

Thanks!
