Cumulative GL balances in POWER PIVOT

Hello: I am trying to create 2 measures ( one in USD and another in pesos) to create cumulative account balances from Sep thru Dec 2015 . I tried to use the YTD DAX function but I am getting the monthly balances for each month and they are not accumulating .Is there any way somebody can help me on writing the correct DAX formula ? I am writing TOTALYTD(SUM(accountingdata[Total Dollar Amount]),'accountingdata'[Date]).

instead of
Total YTD USD:=TOTALYTD(SUM(accountingdata[Total Dollar Amount]),'accountingdata'[Date])

should be
Total YTD USD:=TOTALYTD(SUM(accountingdata[Total Dollar Amount]),accountingdata[Accounting Month])
