  1. Re: Combine different lines to display beside each other

This last post is dramatically different from the first one --

first post has four columns: RA_Num,BarCode,Date_Ent,Date_Warranty
    last post has four columns:...
  2. Re: Show all records of Main form in the subform instead of just one

For linking subforms with main forms you set up the relationships in the subform properties with keys (fields) from the parent (main form) and the child (subform). If you are adding records on the...

    Re: Remote Access Database?

I wouldn't really be interested in using MSAccess for a project like this - it's not intended for online multiuser access. If you are hosting online or in the cloud you could easily get MySQL or...

Re: Excel save sheet as VBA but remove commas

You can edit the file you create after you create it.

    For example:

    Sub foo()
    Dim fso As Object '//Scripting.FileSystemObject
    Dim ts(1) As Object '//Scripting.TextStream
    Dim s As String...

Re: Excel save sheet as VBA but remove commas

The additional commas represent empty cells or field values with nothing in them. You could probably just leave that alone - why is it a problem?

For instance a worksheet with these values:...

    Re: 1004 on assignment statement

You also best check the result you are getting for FullRange (what is the actual range you get out of this -- MARK858 this is where r is coming from, for each r in FullRange)

    Set FullRange =...

Re: Create Printer Error for testing purposes

    Raising errors:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/vba/language/reference/user-interface-help/raise-method

    this also works:

    dim i as Long
    i = 1/0

Re: Create Printer Error for testing purposes

Partly at least that's how printers work. It should actually print the job once the jam/paper problem/electrical supply is fixed (so you don't necessarily need to hit a print button again).
  9. Re: Combine different lines to display beside each other

I'm waiting for answer to Stumac's question - or in general some more context. The semantics are not clear - why is the second case "right" and the first case "wrong". At first glance it seems you...

Re: Any chance mdb to get data from xlsx

I also believe that you can't use the new (now old?) xlsx formats with Access 2003 or earlier. mdb is strictly speaking just a file format, but Access 2003 and earlier cannot read or write the new...
  11. Re: SQL to multiply value from previous record ? How ?

There's no good MSAccess SQL for this that I can think of. I would drop the data into Excel for the calculations here.
  12. Re: Changing Values of Text Box on Main Form from Sub Form

I think a lot depends on the details? Is the subform related to the main form (i.e., parent-child or anything of that nature?). How are they related? Also, are the fields bound? If so what are they...
  13. Re: If value in report combobox A, B or C, then another combo box d or e.

Okay. You could put a long in () clause in the formula I guess. But dlookup would be cleaner.
  14. Re: If value in report combobox A, B or C, then another combo box d or e.

    this might work:

    =IIF(Left([InterestCode],1) = "M","Dividend", IIF(Left([InterestCode],1) = "P", "Interest"), "")

But I'm not sure what happens if nothing is selected (null? blank? Error?)....
  15. Re: INSERT INTO SELECT * FROM tblName IN 'Db Location'

There is probably no simple was to do this with plain SQL. I suppose there are tools that would allow it (such as SSIS import export mappings or who knows what else might be available these days). I...

Re: Access: Delete all records in a Table

Running a delete query in the button code is a simple option:

    Either:

    Sub Foo()

    DoCmd.SetWarnings False
    DoCmd.RunSQL "delete * From [Table2];"
    DoCmd.SetWarnings True

Re: MTBF Analysis in Access query

Remove the second word "from". Then try again. If it doesn't work post back but do try to fix the syntax errors yourself so you don't have to wait for me.

Re: MTBF Analysis in Access query

as a starter, that should be a simple join (self join, technically):

    t1.BarCode,
    DateDiff("d", t1.DateWarranty, t2.DateWarranty) as DateDifference
    from...
  19. Re: Access: Autopopulate a field on one from using another Form.

Something like (in the first control's after update event or possibly change event):

    [Forms]![MyOtherForm].[MyOtherControl].Value = Me.MyControl.Value
  20. Re: INSERT INTO SELECT * FROM tblName IN 'Db Location'

can you give an example of what you mean by an unmatched field? Is this in your Select clause? Or your Where clause or Join clause?

You could. You could also just work with the "selected" row. Or use the data without moving it to other forms. There are usually a variety of options. UI design is not easy in my opinion but it is...

Re: Combo Box List Rows limit

I'd say in general combo boxes with 30,000 rows probably violate some basic principle of UI design. Probably the one that says "never put 30,000 rows in a combo box". You're going to have to find a...
