Paste filter search values with OLAP

I'm looking for a way to paste a list of values into a filter search on an OLAP pivot rather than click each value. I saw a way to do this years ago but cannot find it. I saw mention of an add-in,...

Re: Copy lookup tables in PowerPivot

It is actually one data table, with multiple dimensions. So we change the base view, that changes all. Its creating the multiple hierarchies that slows it down, but no mind we went ahead and did it...

Re: Copy lookup tables in PowerPivot

Right, I know that, that's how you manually start from the beginning. We are trying to avoid having to customize names, add calculated columns and measures, and adding date hierarchies all over...

Re: Copy lookup tables in PowerPivot

Its a SQL table. Same source for each date dimension, but want to duplicate for difference slicers and not have to re-enter all code on them. Its the equivalent of the Excel copy tab we are looking...

I need to take my date dimension lookup, and clone it 8 times to make specific tables for each date. Is there a way to clone an existing table in PowerPivot?

Get the column value from a row

I have evaluated a single row using TopN(1,table,expression). Now I want to use that in a calculated column by extracting a specific column from the row set. How would I do that? An alternative...

    Re: Constrain filters to facts

Thanks Mike. That works for slicers. If the field is used as a pivot filter, or on the row with a label filter, there doesn't seem to be an option to do that. These are the more common scenarios...

    Constrain filters to facts

I would like to constrain a filter or slicer to values represented in the related facts. For example, if I only have sales for the current year, I would only want the date slicer to show this years...

    UseRelationship() and Power View

I am finding that I cannot have UseRelationship() in a Power View report. The issue is that I have a measure that conditionally connects 1 of 2 tables on the fly. Generally that works and I can...

    Re: Rolling totals

Are you using a date filter as I did in the example. This actually is in a measure, so long as your column references are in a filter you should be OK.

    Re: Access previous record fields

    Miguel,
Thanks, hopefully someone else can help. I do use EARLIER in the filter for compares, but I don’t see how that can be used outside of the filter context. My formula looks like this.

    Re: Access previous record fields

    Miguel,
Here’s an example using bicycle sales. I am trying to calculate the last field, Previous Type. To do that I filter by CustID to get the max date prior to the current, which gives row 1. ...

    Re: Access previous record fields

DGET sounds ideal, but unfortunately this is PowerPivot with DAX not Access. I don't see a DAX DGET formula, but an equivalent would work if anyone knows one.

I could calculate/Filter is I had the previous key. The issue is that the only way to determine the most recent sale is using maxx(), but that just returns one value, the max date. I need a way to...

  18. Re: Create Excel Dashboard or PivotTable That Works WITHOUT PowerPivot?

    Re: Random columns

They are dates, but the same principal applies to numbers. They should not have spaces in them. It will have a label column and 4 dates, starting on row 2.
