  1. Re: VBA Excel SQL Error "No Value Given for One or More Required Parameters"

Maximum. That is done like this,

SELECT MAX(some field), other fields you want
    FROM table
GROUP BY other fields you want

Order of fields in SQL doesn't matter, btw.

    If you want to filter,

Re: Best PC for calculating huge data?

    Hello

I assume these are Excel files, and suggest the biggest difference in calculation time will be the way the calculations are done. The set up of the Excel file.

    There are old threads here...
  3. Re: Value not equaling what it should -- can't figure out why

please see the highlighted note in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/vba/language/reference/user-interface-help/round-function

in case that link has an error, I'll copy it here,

  4. Re: VBA Excel SQL Error "No Value Given for One or More Required Parameters"

    Hi, Sam

IIRC, that error is when a field name in the query is not found in the data.

Suggest you carefully check field headers "First Last", "Age", and, "Salary" match between the worksheets &...
  5. Re: Maintain partial bolding of original cell when doing an INDEX/MATCH lookup

You could use VBA instead. Issue might be speed if you have many.
Being code, specifics would really help for anyone to assist further.
  6. Re: Value not equaling what it should -- can't figure out why

Double gets you lots of digits in numbers. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/visual-basic/language-reference/data-types/double-data-type
The sort of subtraction being done often has small...
  7. Re: Moving Axis Cross Points automatically within Excel 2010

the macro recorder is great for this sort of thing. ALT-T-M-R to start it.

    ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).CrossesAt = Range("YourCell").Value2

Please set activechart or change first reference....
  8. Re: VBA SQL Query w/WHERE Clause Condition = GetUserName() From MS ACCESS DB

actually, it was a different thread I was thinking of. it includes some timing of different approaches

  9. Re: VBA SQL Query w/WHERE Clause Condition = GetUserName() From MS ACCESS DB

    PS

If you have a bit of data, IIRC a faster & more robust approach is to load the data into an array and load from there instead of from the worksheet.

Of course, by using an array you again...
  10. Re: VBA SQL Query w/WHERE Clause Condition = GetUserName() From MS ACCESS DB

again, REALLY specific info is needed (on what you want & the set up you have. based on the description given, what follows is really just rough, general advice. What might work best for you might be...
  11. Re: VBA SQL Query w/WHERE Clause Condition = GetUserName() From MS ACCESS DB

it is inserting everything because that what the code says to do. near the end of the code, the line is "SELECT *"

there are many, many options & I don't know what you want - so can't advise...
  12. Re: VBA SQL Query w/WHERE Clause Condition = GetUserName() From MS ACCESS DB

I guess the user name function is in Excel

right now, the SQL has the function name hard-coded in it. instead the SQL (which is just text) needs to be created (concatenated) - so put the value...
  13. Re: Help: Raffle Name Picker 250 Prizes, 0 Duplicates with Multiple Entries per Person

That doesn't answer my question. Maybe I didn't explain it well enough. I don't know what you want so I can't help you.

    What about?
Formula =A2 in the top prize winner 1 cell, then drag/fill down...
  14. Re: How do you manage volatile functions, array formulas in workbook with large data set

How I manage it is by using a different approach. This was addressed in a separate recent thread. Basically working like a database - without volatile functions & especially without array formulas....

  17. Re: Comparing column to column in multiple sheets, delete row of match found

It would be good to better understand the set up, and the volumes of data as perhaps there are better ways to do the task.

    Maybe this helps you?
    put this formula on sheetA

  18. Re: Help: Raffle Name Picker 250 Prizes, 0 Duplicates with Multiple Entries per Person

Surely you must give some rules on how to pick the unique winners?

How is it done? for example where i'm from, some little bits of paper each with an ID on them are put in a bucket and someone...
  19. Re: Phantom Links in Workbook that cannot be found to be deleted

Be sure to check HIDDEN names, the name manager doesn't show these IIRC.
In case you haven't already checked, also check for any very hidden worksheets.
And check objects on worksheets: these...
  20. Re: Data Model - Update All Without Updating Pivot Tables

    PS.

My comments come from zero knowledge of Excel "data models".

I'm used to having pivot table data from multiple tables/worksheets/files/databases. With relationships defined by SQL.
  21. Re: Data Model - Update All Without Updating Pivot Tables

    hi, Paul

My attention is drawn to " the relationship between some elements in the Pivot Table is not defined until all the data has been refreshed."

I don't understand. In my mind when the...
  22. Re: Hello Excel Kings any I wanna learn Excel VBA from scratch any help down here... thank you guys

    hi, Yassir

    Just start. :-)

There are books, youtubes, endless sites that google will find. There is the macro recorder (within Excel).
You might start just reading forum questions & trying...
  23. Re: Best way to calculate rolling 6 months average

Setting up data as much as possible like a database is usually the best approach - good, normalised data in structured tables.
  24. Re: Assistance with Importing Data From Other Excel Files

And if you're in an earlier version of Excel without PowerQuery (aka Get&Transform) just use a query. Or go straight to a pivot table. Again with the idea of no Log worksheet, and potentially no...
