  1. Re: If B1 value is negative, filter column A with all values equal to A1. (possible w/o macro?)

Countifs... brilliant. I didn't know that existed. Thank you!

I need to clarify my second request- if I've selected a date, only the items that end with a negative balance should show. So if the...
  2. Re: [VBA] Replace User-defined function's result with its value

I think you'd want a macro that runs on Workbook_Open and checks for X add-in, and if it isn't present, then replace each formula with .value=.value

    If AddIns("Add-In Title Here").Installed...
  3. Re: Collecting data from one workbook to another

JackDanIce, I'm curious, why count the number of rows in the workbook and go up from the bottom rather than starting from the top and going down? What's everyone's preference/best practice on this?

  4. If B1 value is negative, filter column A with all values equal to A1. (possible w/o macro?)

Title is just an example. With a table like this:

    <tbody>
    DATE
    ITEM
    QTY ON HAND

    Re: Finding Repeat Range

If that's a real data set, it looks like the repeating range doesn't start until row 2? I don't know if I'll be able to help you with this. Frankly, the only thing I could even think of would be far...
  6. Re: Target of a double click event can be wrong when on a protected sheet. Looking for workaround

    Cool, thanks!
  7. Re: Macro to select last cell in another sheet

    Range("B2").Value = Sheets("DT_Date").Range("A1").End(xlDown).Row

Replace the bold A with any column that will always have a value in every cell all the way to the last row.
  8. Re: Target of a double click event can be wrong when on a protected sheet. Looking for workaround

Wow, for some reason I thought if you let users access the locked cells, they could also edit them. But I never tested it! Thanks for the heads up.

What does Cancel = True do?
  9. Re: Compare 2 cell values and delete the row with the smallest value

Ha, good catch. I was wondering how because it is very simple. Was grasping at straws with the selection suggestion.

    Re: Finding Repeat Range

Will there always be at least one repeated range? Are there any constraints on the size of the range, as in, it will always be at least 3 rows or never more than 100? And to clarify, all you want to...
  11. Re: Compare 2 cell values and delete the row with the smallest value

Not having tested it, I would try replacing

    Range("A9").EntireRow.Delete

  12. Re: Compare 2 cell values and delete the row with the smallest value

    What's the error?
  13. Target of a double click event can be wrong when on a protected sheet. Looking for workaround

I Googled for a while and couldn't find this issue.

I have a protected sheet with a BeforeDoubleClick event as follows:

If Not Intersect(Target, Range("M1")) Is Nothing Then

  14. Re: Worksheet_Change passes a Range to another Sub, which errors out if the "change" was the Delete key

Yes actually, Target will always be a merged cell. It's been so long since I built the Input sheet that I completely forgot about that. I've heard of merged cells creating headaches in odd ways,...
  15. Re: Worksheet_Change passes a Range to another Sub, which errors out if the "change" was the Delete key

Thanks for the tips. I replaced IsEmpty with what you suggested, and now that is where the sub errors out if you use the delete key. Even with the If Target.Address=ActiveCell.Address statement.

  16. Worksheet_Change passes a Range to another Sub, which errors out if the "change" was the Delete key

I have a Worksheet_Change event that fires whenever the user makes a change to one of 18 cells:

    If Not Application.Intersect(Target, Union(Range("Trend"), ... Range("Sales"))) Is Nothing Then...

  18. Re: AutoFilter visible cell only works when stepping through

Son of a gun, that's right. Rookie mistake xD

Thanks for catching that. I've been scratching my head for the past hour.
  19. AutoFilter visible cell only works when stepping through

Hey everyone, I have a sheet that houses data for many stores, and it also has extra "blank" stores (e.g. Empty Store 1000, Empty Store 1001...) built into it which can be changed to accommodate new...

Re: DisplayAlerts = False Not Working

Ahh alright, great. Didn't know variables could be accessed across modules... I thought that was part of the point of different modules to be honest! Thanks for the insight guys.

Re: DisplayAlerts = False Not Working

@vds1 The macros are in different modules unfortunately. I might just have to duplicate the code of macro2 in macro1.

Re: DisplayAlerts = False Not Working

    Ah, I'm sorry I was using Application.DisplayAlerts.

And OK, that would explain it then. Chalk up one more reason I hate the MSDN reference- it specifically says alerts and messages.

    Do you...

    DisplayAlerts = False Not Working

I have one macro (macro1) that calls a different macro (macro2). At the end of macro2 a MsgBox displays, which I want to suppress so macro1 can continue. Macro2 is used separately in other cases and...
  24. Re: Is there an API for VBA like there is for Java?

@AngelJ- The code you had in post #10 works if you do .ListBoxes("MonthOrWeekList"). So many thanks for that!!

@xenou- First thank you for the note in post #11, I'll have to keep that in mind as I...
  25. Re: Is there an API for VBA like there is for Java?

Well guys I'm glad to see some discussion on this. I was pretty frustrated yesterday so today I'm thinking a bit more clearly. Thanks for bearing with me.

I'm sure that since I'm going at this...
