  1. Re: Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

I can work around assumption 1, it's just the issue of two blank in a row. Now, I code them as 99 but in order to use Table.FillUp, the cells have to be blank/empty, correct?

    The expected result...
  2. Re: Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

Almost, there were some other assumptions -

Assumption 1 - that there were exactly two people on the team, TL and NL. I can adjust the data so that I take one NL, but what if there were no NL...
  3. Re: Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

Yes, 99 is blank. Thank you.
  4. Re: Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

    Yes, thank you.
  5. Re: Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

Thank you very much, however I'm doing more than just replacing '99' with '1', I'm trying to replace it with what the NL had.
  6. Re: Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

I'll use the table from above as an example of the resulting data set

    <tbody>
    SiteCode
    TeamLead(redundant in final)
    Q1
    Q2
    Q3
    Q4
  7. Re: Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

I think the complexity is the custom column - the formula to check for '99', then go to the other entry.
  8. Get and Transform - changing/finding value if blank

Hello, I hope everyone is well. Long time, no post :)

I receive non-normalized data from our field staff who are in teams of 2. For our final analysis, we choose only the team lead (indicated in...

    Repeated indexing

Hello everyone! I'm in a new position where I'm allowed to use PQ and PP again.

As always, I apologize if I am not asking this using the best terms:

I need to create a column within Power Query...
  10. Re: Importing text into Excel but by character

    Geesh -

Thank you - I was looking at "Fixed Width" as Excel fixed them and I couldn't adjust them. I hate trying to problem solve 15 minutes before the end of the day. :)

    Again, thank you
  11. Importing text into Excel but by character

Hello, I apologize if this has been answered before, but I would appreciate redirection if it has:

I have received data that is in a text file and I need it in Excel (2013). However, as far as I...

    "Print" Multiple Worksheets to PDF

    Hello,

Someone helped me with code similar to this three years ago, but I have since changed jobs.

I have four worksheets in my Excel workbook: Control, RptPg1, RptPg2, RptPg3

    I would like a...
  13. Re: Cosmetic Questions to PowerPivot Table

    Sorry, it now became obvious:

Adjust the formatting BEFORE you change the "Display" in the PivotTable Options like "Show expand/collapse buttons" or "Display field captions and filter drop downs"...
  14. Cosmetic Questions to PowerPivot Table

    Hello everyone, again-

I'm using a Power Pivot table to create this report. I don't THINK it matters in regard to my questions below, but I wanted to make sure that I was clear in the kind of...
  15. Re: Excel and Power Query/Power Pivot Reporting

I think I overlapped your responses, sorry. You answered my question about bringing in the detail. RIGHT NOW, this company just wants PDFs so they can print them out, but I am not sure they...
  16. Re: Excel and Power Query/Power Pivot Reporting

Rather, should I aggregate then put into Excel, or aggregate with Power Query/Power Pivot?
  17. Re: Excel and Power Query/Power Pivot Reporting

    Great, Thank you, Matt.

My new company isn't ready for anything Power BI -related (although dashboards would be nice!)

Since I'm gathering all this data into Excel, should I bring in...

    Re: General Query structure question

And if this is related - If I want to "SELECT" fields, do I also have to "GROUP BY" them? (like if I'm grabbing address, city, state, etc.)

    Re: General Query structure question

Shoot, I forgot to add one caveat: The units expire. That's kind of what was tripping me up in the first place and I forgot to mention it. I am really sorry about that.

    Joe, can I apply a...

This one table has over a million records. There are even more "Activity Types" than the two I'm listing here.

    Re: General Query structure question

Ok, I took out other fields (there are over 30) and this is only a small sample:

    <tbody>
    ID
    ACTIVITY_TYPE
    CATEGORY
    UNITS
    PRODUCT_CODE
    TRANSACTION_DATE

    Re: General Query structure question

Them both being housed in the same table is what's confusing me with writing the query.

    Re: General Query structure question

Okay. Here goes (sorry again if I get confusing):

I have one query to get a sum of the units and receive this from the table dbo_Activity:

    <tbody>
    ID
    ACTIVITY_TYPE
    CATEGORY
