    Re: Autofill dates for specified year

    :laugh: That could be it. We can't help if we live "at the bottom of the world".

    Re: Autofill dates for specified year

    I'm not so sure...
    That does some really strange things for me.
    I started out with the whole column formatted as General & my date system is d/m/y
    When I enter 1/1/2019 in A1 it shows up as...

    Re: Autofill dates for specified year

    It also assumes that the column is already formatted as Date?
    The Fill Series does not require that assumption.

    Re: reversing the order of 2 columns

    You're welcome.

    .. and of course if the data started out in a jumbled order then sorting wouldn't reverse the table anyway. :)

    Re: Autofill dates for specified year

    It just uses one of Excel's built-in features.
    DataSeries We want some sort of series (pattern)
    Rowcol:=xlColumns Go down columns not across rows.
    Type:=xlChronological We want some sort of date...

    Re: vba If condition help..

    You're welcome.

    The option using Instr that I gave in post 2 was not quite correct. I have edited that code so if you are testing, be sure to re-visit post 2 to get the correct code.

    Re: Autofill dates for specified year

    If you have the first date in cell A1, then try

    Sub FillDates()
    Range("A1").DataSeries Rowcol:=xlColumns, Type:=xlChronological, Date:=xlDay, Step:=1,...

    Re: Deleting Lines with a Macro Command

    Then replace that first block of blue code in post 23 with this

    With Range("AK2", Range("AK" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp))
    .Replace What:=")", Replacement:="", LookAt:=xlPart
    .TextToColumns...
  12. Re: Keeping key words in row data and delete the rest of the rows Macro updating Please

    My mistake, I mis-read your request and thought the rows had to start with those texts ( & I hadn't seen post 4 when I drafted my code).
    It is a simple fix, just add this red asterisk

    .AutoFilter...

    Re: Deleting Lines with a Macro Command

    Yes, sorry, as I said my suggestion was untested & I forgot about Replace changing the format even though I had set it to text with the "@". :oops:

    After the various rows have been deleted, are...

    Re: vba If condition help..

    :huh: Really?? I think you should check again.

    Here's my test of your code line

    Sub Test()
    Dim i As Long

    For i = 1 To 3
    If Sheet1.Cells(i, 1).Value = Green Or Red Or Blue Then

    Re: Deleting Lines with a Macro Command

    Untested, but try adding the blue code where shown.

    Sub MoveNameDeleteRow_v5()
    Dim r As Long

    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    For r = Cells.Find(What:="*", LookIn:=xlValues,...

    Re: vba If condition help..

    Well in that case you would have found that it does not work. :eek:
  17. Re: For loop with irregular step or use arrays if possible

    You shouldn't have to do any loop from 1 to 100 to find a few values if you don't want to

    If they are in consecutive cells starting from, say B2 then you could use something like this to just...

    Re: Deleting Lines with a Macro Command

    OK, so back to my question about whether there is a column that always has data so we can reliably tell where the end of the data is, it seems like the actual answer to that is "No". ;)

    In that...
  21. Re: Keeping key words in row data and delete the rest of the rows Macro updating Please

    See if this does what you want.

    Sub keepRows()
    Dim myVals As Variant, itm As Variant

    myVals = Split("MON:|Data Sent|SURVEY:", "|")
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False

    Re: Deleting Lines with a Macro Command

    Then I'm guessing this was not quite correct?
    For the data where the bottom row was not moved, is there something in column H of that bottom row?

    Re: Deleting Lines with a Macro Command

    OK, provided column H has something in it even for rows like Case B rows 3 & 4 and Case C row 2 then try this version

    Sub MoveNameDeleteRow_v3()
    Dim r As Long

    ...
  25. Re: Return the second to last value - data in two columns

    Since that is now 12 years old, you should mention that first-up in any question you ask. ;)
