  1. Re: For Each looping through own collection class

The puzzle remains - why it ever worked. I have amended the code in the Hotels collection class module to:

Public Property Get NewEnum() As IUnknown
    Attribute NewEnum.VB_UserMemID= -4
    ...
  2. For Each looping through own collection class

    Hello there. Most puzzling.

The following worked first time I tried it, now it fails on the highlighted line with
Object does not support this property or method

    Simple test Hotel class:

  3. Excel 2016 for Mac has forgotten who its parents are? Automation Error '-2147319767 (80028029)'

    Hiya

This code works on Excel 2016 for Windows and Excel 2012 for Mac, but stops with the above error on Excel 2016 for Mac. Apparently it does not recognise the property 'Parent' anymore...?

  4. Re: Alternative method needed to transfer data columns quickly between ranges

It's ok, I think I misunderstood a previous post. I removed Application.Transpose in both cases and it works on both computers now. Can someone clear up the point of Application.Transpose? It's...
  5. Alternative method needed to transfer data columns quickly between ranges

    Hiya

Very quickly, I have gotten into the habit of passing data to and from arrays and then sending the arrays directly to workbook ranges. This has sped up my code considerably. When I have to...
  6. Re: Using a named range in an IFS formula's criteria

Thanks tyija - I think that was a dead-heat. Appreciate your time. Love the signature :-)
  7. Re: Using a named range in an IFS formula's criteria

Thank you again for your speed reply, Rory. Don't know what I'd do without you!
  8. Using a named range in an IFS formula's criteria

    Hi,

I have an IFS formula thus:

    =COUNTIFS(Orders!$V:$V,$K$4,Orders!$H:$H,I7,Orders!$G:$G,"unfulfilled",Orders!$E:$E,"<43566")

where 43566 is the serial number of a cut-off date. This date...
  9. Re: Object Variable Not Set Error when opening workbooks - BUT WORKS FINE WHEN I INSERT BREAKPOINTS

I'm guessing. I've written macros to access files on network drives before now and not had this issue.
  10. Re: Object Variable Not Set Error when opening workbooks - BUT WORKS FINE WHEN I INSERT BREAKPOINTS

I'm not a fan at all. Makes my skin crawl to type in the code, but it is the only way I can get the thing to work. The only thing I can think is the workbooks are stored on OneDrive and the delay in...
  11. Re: Object Variable Not Set Error when opening workbooks - BUT WORKS FINE WHEN I INSERT BREAKPOINTS

The following alteration works but it's dreadfully inelegant:

Sub Compile_MegalistA() Dim wsCustomers As Worksheet
    Dim wsHistoric As Worksheet
    Dim wsNewArrivals As Worksheet

  12. Object Variable Not Set Error when opening workbooks - BUT WORKS FINE WHEN I INSERT BREAKPOINTS

    Hi,

Code below works fine if I put breakpoints in the first procedure, but stops with above error on highlighted line when I don't. Why please? And how can I overcome this? Puzzled! Thanks.

    Re: Single array rounding issue

    Thanks Rory
I'll take a look. I generally try to use the smallest data type for speed but if that's what it uses it's probably faster as well.

    Single array rounding issue

    Hello.

I need to copy columns between worksheets and then provide lookups values from a table. I have ditched Functions and Copy / Paste in favour of:

    1) Loading the values to be looked up...
  16. Re: Find and replace values within a comma delimited string and omit/flag no matches

Not the most elegant code, but it works with your tiny example.

Sub Find_Replace() Dim rngInitColumn As Range
    Dim rngReplaceColumn As Range
    Dim rngReplacement As Range

    Re: Conditional Formatting

I think I understand. Have you tried using COUNTIFS? A quick example:

  19. Re: Opening a csv file to avoid corruption WITHOUT creating a query

Sure, that will do nicely. Am completely new to query tables and manipulating them in VBA.

Very helpful, thank you very much.
  20. Opening a csv file to avoid corruption WITHOUT creating a query

    Hello

A csv file I need to open contains quite a number of foreign characters. By default, opening it in Excel corrupts them.

I have been using this to open it (successfully, without...

Re: Knowing how long to wait....?

Hello. Thanks for replying. No such line used in this macro. Could you clarify what you mean by "often hit some alert from Excel about the filenames", please?

    Appreciate your time.

Thanks for your reply! Wait was an absolutely last resort that I used today when nothing else worked. The initial filename has to be a default one as it is established in the settings of the PDF...

    Knowing how long to wait....?

    Hello

My macro creates a PDF file (printing to, as it happens, Bullzip, a PDF Printer) called "To Email"
It then renames the file to a unique and useful name

    However... It is frequently trying...
