  1. Re: Questions from the 2013 Modeloff awards ceremony

    Nice solution Peter. Don't think you can get shorter than that.

    Sorry, I can't see the images in my browser. Can you pm me with the images?
  4. Re: Required little help in Macro to convert txt file into excel

    Remove the brackets around the arguments:

    Workbooks.Open Filename:=strPath & aryFileNames(i), Format:=6, Delimiter:="|"
  5. Re: Required little help in Macro to convert txt file into excel

    Open it as a delimited file:

    <code>Workbooks.Open(Filename:=strPath & aryFileNames(i), Format:=6, Delimiter:="|")

    </code></pre>
  6. Re: Help with inserting increasing number in a column

    Does B170 and D170 CURRENTLY contain values? If not, then my formula will give a blank result. If they do, and D170 = "Referral", then my formula should work. If that is not the case then you will...

    Re: Select the last cell in a column

    The last empty cell would be the last cell in the column, provided it is empty. Do you mean the first empty cell after the last non-empty cell?
  11. Re: extracting value from an errant formula

    The asterisk will be interpreted as a wildcard by find and replace, so if you try to do that it will delete everything in front of a "1" in every cell.

    Re: Add zeroes as Place holders

    I think I know what the problem is. I suspect the entry in CU5 is "AMBA" followed by three spaces. Replace CU5 with TRIM(CU5) in my formula.

    Re: Add zeroes as Place holders

    What is your formula now? It should be:

    =CU5&REPT(" ",6-LEN(CU5))&CV5&CW5&CX5&CY5&TEXT(CZ5,"00000")&DA5&REPT("0",3-LEN(DA5))
  16. Re: Subtract cells but only if both have values

    I think you mean you want to subtract B1 from A1 :)

    I think the function you are looking for is COUNTBLANK.

    Re: Add zeroes as Place holders

    So why not just use CU5&REPT(" ",6-LEN(CU5))?

  19. Re: Macro to name sheets sudden;y stopped working

    I don't think that is exactly what is happening. The code is trying to re-name each sheet to whatever is in B3 OF EACH sheet. So the error is likely occuring because there are two sheets with the...

    Re: Add zeroes as Place holders

    It is not quite clear what you are trying to achieve. Can you elaborate? And "AMBA " has 5 characters?
  21. Re: VBA: Selecting only rows with data in a range

    You don't really need to loop:

    LastRow = Cells(Rows.Count, "R").End(x1Up).Row
    ActiveSheet.Range("K1:T"&LastRow).Cut Destination:=ActiveSheet.Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Offset(2)

  23. Re: Determine which number in a table a column is

    Why do you loop through the rows? You are not testing if a row meets some criteria so why not change all the rows at once?

    Re: Add zeroes as Place holders

    =a2&rept("0",12-len(a2))
  25. Re: Help with inserting increasing number in a column

    In that case, change the formula to:

    =IF(AND(OR(LOWER(D7)="uphold",LOWER(D7)="reject"),B7<>""),INT((ROW(A1)-1)/16)+1,"")
