  1. Re: Delete only unused related records in another table

Thanks for the detailed explanation - really helps. I may be a bit off here, but this is what I'm concluding:
An investigation is about 1 invoice. If there are 2 or more concurrent 'complaints' from...

    Re: Len() function

Close to what I'd do, but not quite. That will prompt for each control, one at a time. So if you perform the action that would trigger this code and there a 6 missing values, you'll get 6 prompts....

this looks like the same problem/question as your other thread

  4. Re: Delete only unused related records in another table

Agree with not storing attachments in Access tables. It matters not if you put them all in 1 or over several; you can quickly reach the max file size.
Have to wonder why you don't just update the...

    Re: Len() function

Len returns a number. You cannot compare it to an empty string (aka zls or zero length string). Maybe you want
    If Len(strMissingInfo) & "" = "" Then
    or
    If Len(strMissingInfo) = 0 Then
    or
    If...

    Re: Make a unbound field = 1

Yup, I made boo boo in 2nd example, which was intended for where value would be text.
    You're welcome.

    Re: Import SharePoint Excel Files

Your question is not clear for a black & white guy (me). You don't import files into Access unless you want to experience huge bloat in your db file size. So, supposing what you actually want is the...

Re: How to Link your Access DB to Sharepoint?

FWIW, M$ has stopped supporting integration of Access with SharePoint if I'm not mistaken. For a multi user db, everybody should have their own front end connected to the back end tables on a network...

Re: disable design view in Access

Technically it's not an executable file. Those have .exe as their extension.
If you see it called an executable anywhere, that is incorrect. It is a compiled version of the accdb (or mdb) file.
  11. Re: Run Access Function from Excel without opening database

This isn't my area of expertise. Access has a crosstab query which emulates a pivot table to a minor degree but probably not what you need. If you're working on the Excel side and modifying data you...

    Re: linked table error

You didn't say how far you can get. Can you click on every linked table in the navigation pane and open it? If so, the problem isn't with any table. It may be a form you're opening that has a record...

    Re: Date Filters

My main concern with a parameter query would be that if either one of the inputs was invalid, the query will still run. Will the fact that no records are returned be interpreted as there are no...

    Re: Image Click event

It looks to me as if you're trying to pass an image name as the parameter for the Where condition. That will never work because it expects a sql statement that is a valid Where clause (without the...

Re: Autoexecute when Access is open or closed

sinema, you didn't say if this is a shared db. If there are concurrent users the action might disrupt what they're doing; maybe even introduce corruption. It seems like there must be a lot going on...

    Re: What are Class Modules

Technically, the module behind a form or report is a class module. A standard module would be one that contains code but doesn't "belong" to any object, be that a form, report or custom object. A...

  18. Re: Run Access Function from Excel without opening database

Is there a reason that in Access you don't simply link to the spreadsheet? If you're bent on doing it the current way, then I'd say no, you cannot update a table without opening the file any more...
  19. Re: Update or CancelUpdate without AddNew or Edit

I take it that you are using a recordset. Without seeing the code I'd just be guessing. The initial thought is that code or user interaction is attempting to update a recordset but the .Update method...
  20. Re: Add a file to the "Recent Items" listing in Outlook Attachment

It's not clear if you are referring to the Recent Files list that some Office apps (such as Excel) have or if you mean a list that you're creating as a set of Access table records. If the former, I...
  21. Re: What would be the alternative for 'Office.CommandBar' in Office 365 for MS Access

Did you look for this old toolbar or menu in the Quick Access area of the ribbon? If I recall, that's where it will show up but it's not obvious.
Can't recall what happens if you hide the main...

Re: how to update records through Forms

You would have to provide details about the form design and its recordsource. Start with the latter - is it bound or not?
    Then,
    is it single record view,
    datasheet or continuous,
    main form and...

Re: Microsoft Access 14.0 Object Library
