  1. Guidance: Data table setup for Dashboard (Pivot Charts) Output

    Hi,

Looking for guidance to create a Dashboard for quanties of stock, cashflow and other KPIs. I have table of data where:

  2. Re: Run Access Function from Excel without opening database

The function in Access triggers another macro that updates records into a table from data imported from Excel.

Apart from testing feedback, the project is complete, I left the code as was with it...
  3. Re: Object unexpectedly changed in VBA project window - how to change back?

Not that I know of, it's all meant to be "standard" Excel and "standard Access"
  4. Re: Object unexpectedly changed in VBA project window - how to change back?

I know, ask an obvious question! This has totally baffled me as been working on this file for ages (without crashing/corruption issues)

No, avoid them due to issues with display and sizing, try to...
  5. Re: Object unexpectedly changed in VBA project window - how to change back?

lol thanks Rory, but how can I isolate or identify the cause or find the corruption? It's not obvious

Code is fairly basic, only "complex" parts are reading/writing to an Access database.
  6. Object unexpectedly changed in VBA project window - how to change back?

    Hi,

Working on a spreadsheet containing VBA, last night, closed it and it contained 1 Workbook object (ThisWorkbook) and several Worksheet objects)

Today, in the Project window, two worksheet...
  7. Re: Run Access Function from Excel without opening database

    Haha well spotted!

I am actually now reading about making a pivot table in Excel conenct/refresh to an Access query.

If I needed to make data changes to the data pulled via this connection into...
  8. Re: Run Access Function from Excel without opening database

The client only wants Excel as front-end, can't cut out Excel unfortunately.

Each user has a template file which contains all necessary macros that makes calls to database, if those calls cause...
  9. Re: Run Access Function from Excel without opening database

Hi Micron and stumac, thanks for your replies. Without going into detail for reasons for why and how (too lengthy), your replies help make sense of why I need to open database in this instance.

  10. Run Access Function from Excel without opening database

    Hi,

I have the following working code in Excel that inserts a record into an Access database table.

Can it be re-written so that there is no open/close of the database application?

    Sub...

Re: Access Track Changes to Data

Hey JonXL, thanks for sharing the link, it points to a $16 downloadable database which contains an example of a database that can roll-back, is this correct?

    Access Track Changes to Data

I'm designing a database which has an Excel front-end and uses Access for data store.

Re: VBA write data from Excel to Access

Hi xenou - yes meant libraries, not add-ins. Same reason though, too many variable installs across User PCs and management want late binding.

Currently, the entire data set is ~12k rows

    Set up...

Re: VBA write data from Excel to Access

Microsoft Office 14.0 Access database engine objects

Which in turn means using early...

Re: VBA write data from Excel to Access

Including the header row doesn't resolve (same error thrown up)

I'm not sure who I'd run this from Access, do you mean to test/resolve just the SQL query? If so, I'm not sure how to write:

  23. Re: Clustered column chart - highlight specific column if condition met

Hi Toadstool, thanks for replying :)

Thank you Steve, I wasn't aware of this issue, I only recently upgraded to Office 365. For now it is a process that can be left to run, but anticipate future faster demands :(
