    Re: VBA Graph

    Hi

The quick an easy way is to record a macro while you add the chart in the worksheet.

You can then look at the code and adjust it to your needs.

    For something more:

Re: Numeric value as a target for [mm]:ss

    Hi
    Welcome to the board

The time unit in excel is the day. This means that to convert a decimal minute value to excel time you have to divide it by 24 (hours) and by 60 (minutes)

    Your formula...

Re: Getting spreadsheet to someone without XL

    Hi Mike

Some options already. :) Here some others

If what you want is for the receiver to just see your excel page I would suggest saving it as pdf (with the gridlines if you want).

    Re: Decompress Alternate Spellings

    Hi Marcelo

Thanks. Feel free to change/adapt the code.
If I had the time I'd post the same algorithm without the regex's.

    Re: Decompress Alternate Spellings

    Hi badman3000

Try first to replicate the result that I posted.

Like Marcelo said, write the value in A1, execute the code and see that the result is the same that I posted.

    Re: Decompress Alternate Spellings

With the source text in A1, you just have to insert the code in a module and then execute AlternativeSpellings

If you don't know how, check Copy Excel VBA Code to a Regular Module here :

Re: Match function w/multiple criteria in VBA

    Hi

You can access most of the worksheet functions from vba with either

    Syntax 1: Application.Worksheetfunction.SomeFunction (has intellisense)
    Or
    Syntax 2: Application.SomeFunction...

    Re: Decompress Alternate Spellings

    Hi
    Welcome to the board

Write the source text and run this code for the result in column B (just tested with the examples you posted)

    You're welcome.
  13. Re: How to extract Arabic language words from list of different language

    Seems great.

Looking at your code didn't seem that just by expanding C2R to 1568, like you said in post #8 , would be enough to catch languages like Chinese or Japanese.
    I'll give it a go when I...

    Re: Indirect Drop Down Lists

In that case you can use the formula that you posted in Post #1 and use an auxiliary name to evaluate it.

    Define
    Name: IndirectF3
    Refers to: =EVALUATE(Sheet1!$F$3)

    and in the DataValidation...

    Re: Indirect Drop Down Lists

    Hi

Yes it does if you delete the cell.

Maybe you are just clearing the value?

In the cell right-click and choose delete.

    Re: Excel VBA delete picture

No, this is a change event, it only fires if you write a value in the cell, manually or with code, not with a formula.
If F13 has a formula then use the change event on the cell that you changed.

    Re: Excel VBA delete picture

    Hi

Instead of loading the picture each time F13 changes it would be much simpler if you would just add the 2 pictures 1 time and then make them visible or not, according to the value in F13

    Try...

    Hi sandy666

Great to see an M solution. Always good to have different approaches.

    Just a remark

If I understand your code you assumed that the text uses the latin alphabet.
  19. Re: How to extract Arabic language words from list of different language

This is a quick test to extract Arabic text between 2 commas, like in your example.

Place the text in your example A2:A4 and the code extracts the Arabic text to B2, down.

  20. Re: How to extract Arabic language words from list of different language

    Hi

A simple solution is to write a vba snippet and use the unicode codes to get the Arabic characters.

    Hi

Is the pattern the letter P followed by 2 digits, followed by a space and followed by 2 digits?

Is there just 1 of these in the text or more than...
  23. Re: Can VBA grab multiple integers from a string?

The parentheses in a regex have 2 functions:

    - group, like

    (a|b)(c|d)

which matches ac, ac, bc and bd

    - capture submatches
  24. Re: Can VBA grab multiple integers from a string?

I'll try to explain. Hope I'm clear.

This is a simpler form of the pattern

    "(?:^|.*?\D)(\d{5})(?!\d)|.*"

    and this is an explanation:

    1-
What we want is a group of 5 consecutive digits.
  25. Re: Can VBA grab multiple integers from a string?

    Hi

    I tweaked a bit tyija's code:
