    Re: delete record

strings in raw sql must be quoted.

    strSQL = "Delete * From t_Vendor WHERE Vendor= " & "'" & Me.VendorVariation.Value & "'"

Re: What's the fast way to do this?

I guess depending on how symbols are you talking about here I would use the regex solution but simple replace might be faster if you had only a small number of non-alphanumeric characters actually in...
  3. Re: SQL statement is give me error 3061 Too few parameters. Expected 1

Yes this is another good debugging tip for all of us.
  4. Re: SQL statement is give me error 3061 Too few parameters. Expected 1

The sql appears to be working correctly. I cannot understand what is happening either. Why would sql from a combobox populate a report? Its job is to populate the combobox.
  5. Re: SQL statement is give me error 3061 Too few parameters. Expected 1

That might be too much information now.

It loooks like the problem is in how you are using strSQL, in the sub cboEquipNumber_Click()

What is the value of me.cboEquipNumber when you are running...
  6. Re: SQL statement is give me error 3061 Too few parameters. Expected 1

I would suggest you show how you are using strSQL when you get the error.
  7. Re: SQL statement is give me error 3061 Too few parameters. Expected 1

Is this supposed to be a form field or some control value? Does it really have a single leading quote in it?

    ['Filter Report: Type EquipID]

    Edit:
Note that if it is a form field then the...

Re: Run time error 70 - Permission Denied

To use a desktop folder based on the current user you can use the WScript shell host (among other techniques, I am sure). This is how I have done this over the years, e.g.:

Re: Run time error 70 - Permission Denied

Your first sub opens the same file without closing it so that should be cleaned up (probably removed - looks like a piece of code that wasn't finished and is abandoned). Possibly the file exists but...

    Re: Closing a Text File

    Hi,
What are the values of New_FileName and Original_FileName when you encounter this error? Which workbook is active when you encounter this error?

The error is telling you the workbook isn't...
  12. Re: VBA or Expression Builder for using toggle button to open a page

A toggle button is a yes/no control so I wouldn't advise using it for this purpose. A normal button would be sufficient to do any action that needs to occur on a press event (aka click event). I'm...

Re: Query error with aggregate and criteria

I guess you want a where clause not a having clause?

    Such as:

SELECT x.Vendor, Sum(x.Budget) AS Budget, Sum(x.Actuals) AS Actuals, [Budget]-[Actuals] AS Variance
    FROM (
    SELECT Vendor, 0 AS...
  14. Re: Import Excel Data to Access Table - Retain Primary Keys

If prefix + base doesn't change then just make that the primary key.

  15. Re: Delete Query Not Working because table not specified

Probably the first line should have only one table in it:

    Instead of:
DELETE [80- Section Backlog Holding Table].Order, [01- Current Backlog Table].Order

    try this instead:
    DELETE [80-...

    Re: Autonumber not in order

autonumbers don't imply a specific sort ordering. Generally, they will be given increasing numbers as they are added but that's nothing that's guaranteed. So the answer is simply that there is no...

Re: SOLVED Re: vba count # of files in folder

There's more than one way to get a list but as an example if the criteria is in cells A2, A3, and A4 then you can add the counts in B2, B3, and B4:

    Sub test()

    Dim fso As Object...

Just noting that there definitely should be output. Are you looking in the right place? Output would be to the immediate window in the vba environment.
