    Can you give us a small sample of some data, including lay-out, and the desired results?
  2. Re: Best formula to count login - logout time

    How can one tell whether an entry is log in or log out? Where do you want the inverval?

  3. Re: Best formula to count login - logout time

    Could you give us a small sample of your data, with the desired results. I would expect that you had 3 columns Name, TimeIn and TimeOut.

    Would the interval from log in to log out slop over...
  4. Re: Place sub category's letters in all items

    change this line

    prefix = UCase(Left(.Offset(-1, 1).Value, 4))

    (and also change the .Cell(j,3) 's to .Cells(j,2). But it sounds like you've done that already.)
  5. Re: VBA to find next empty row in worksheet isn't working!!!

    erow is derived from Sheet1, copyrange is on Sheets("MONTHLY REPORT")
    Are they the same sheet?
  6. Re: Place sub category's letters in all items

    I think this VBA will do what you want.

    Sub test()
    Dim StartLine As Long, EndLIne As Long
    Dim i As Long, j As Long, prefix As String
    StartLine = 1
    With Range("F:F")

    Re: Worksheet that Mirrors a Table

    I'm at my dayjob and can't work on this, but the Add employee sounds doable (blank lines for their pre-employment months).
    How familiar are you with VBA. This sounds like a decent sized project. Are...

    Re: Worksheet that Mirrors a Table

    You'll need to provide more detail about how these sheets are layed out.

    I'm also wondering what you want when adding or deleting employees.

    If you have a different sheet for Jan, Feb, Mar, ......
  9. Re: Build formula based off value in another Cell

    You could use =INDIRECT(E1&"2")-INDIRECT("F1"&2)

    Which is volatile, or you could use
    =INDEX($A2:$D2,1, Match(E1,{"A","B","C","D"},0)) - INDEX($A$2:$D2, 1, FIND(F1,"ABCD"))
    which is non...

    Re: Reverse Hex Byte Pairs

    1000 decimal = 03E8 in hex.
    Reverse the pairs is E803
    E803 in hex = 59395 decimal

    That seems to be correct.

    What is the result that you desire from 1000?

    Re: Trying to understand ByRef and ByVal

    Its easier to understand ByRef and ByVal with values rather than objects.

    The variables passed to a routine ByRef are effected by changes that routine makes. ByVal values do not cause changes in...

    How big a number are you talking about

    Something like this would work with small enough numbers. If your values exceed the limits of Excel's Dec2Hex function, you'd have to write your own.

  19. Re: convert random list to alphabetical A-Z list

    Put the entries in a column of cells and use Excel's standard Sort feature.
  20. Re: For loop with irregular step or use arrays if possible

    You miss my point. I'm saying that you should use your current loop. Just add code that tests for the VLookup, if it doesn't exist then don't do anything, just go to the next loop.

    Re: Automatically Alphabetize Names

    If Last,First is in column E. A helper column with =COUNTIF(E:E,"<="&E1)+ROW(E1)/10000 will give each row a unique number.
    Sorting on that helper column, by a formula similar to your current one,...
