  1. Re: How to turn conditional formatting OFF when a target cell has a date in it.

This worked like a charm! Again, thanks so much for the help!
Sheet looks great and is working as planned. :)
  2. Re: How to turn conditional formatting OFF when a target cell has a date in it.

I used the formulae from post 3, then applied range as noted above. All seemed to work, but when I entered some test dates, I noticed that column E and J didn't seem to be responding.
    I've also...
  3. Re: How to turn conditional formatting OFF when a target cell has a date in it.

Ok, I seem to have spoken too soon. I've adjusted the "applies to" range to reflect "$d$4:$j$27" but for some reason, cell E4 isn't responding to the CF... Hmmm...

  4. Re: How to turn conditional formatting OFF when a target cell has a date in it.

Thanks to all! Got it to work today. Changed the original CF to include "$D4 and $K4" and all worked great. You all are awesome!

Here's a screen grab with comments. I've gotten the CF to work using the "AND" formulas above, but having problems with Format Painter.

I've tried clearing all CF from...
  6. Re: How to turn conditional formatting OFF when a target cell has a date in it.

D4 through J27 is the largest range where I need the formatting to work. There are two other columns in which I have conditional formatting for due dates, but they're not as critical.

    This is...
  7. Re: How to turn conditional formatting OFF when a target cell has a date in it.

    Thank you both!
Ok, these seem to work great, but I noticed when i used Format Painter to apply the Conditional Formatting to the other cells in sheet, it becomes a hot mess, and only the original...

I've got a spreadsheet that I'm having trouble with turning the conditional formatting OFF once a "Completion Date" is entered into a target cell.

In this sheet, staff enter an "Intake Date" in...

Re: Due Date Tracking, Color Changing Cells

    This nailed it!

As a side note, I noticed that once I had set up the formulas and conditional formatting, that the due date column (D) would show a red "6/30/00" if there was no data entered in...

Re: Due Date Tracking, Color Changing Cells

Tried it, but it works in reverse. If there is no text (or date) in B2, then A2 remains normal. When I put a completion date in B2, A2 turns red. Will play around with it, this seems to be closer to...

Due Date Tracking, Color Changing Cells

I'm trying to write a tracking form for the clinicians in my office that will help them see which clients are due for a treatment review. When a client starts therapy, their chart must be reviewd...
