  1. Re: VBA grammar for sum of two fields in SQL table

in SQL I'm familiar with, AS is not normal syntax for aliasing table names. try changing "as w" to "w"
Also, the field name in the WHERE clause has a space. This won't work
    There is a leading...
  2. Re: efficient way to lookup and return multiple values?

Sounds like an ideal job for a query. Works like a database query.
Simpler but may not perfectly suit what you want is a pivot table.
  3. Re: VBA grammar for sum of two fields in SQL table

should be no problem with a plus sign
why do you think that is the problem?

what is the full SQL?? Without knowing, here are some ideas for a more robust syntax. SELECT (onefield +...

Re: Pull Data Based On Header

what about, in cell D2 and drag down
    =$A$1&IF(LEN(B2)>0,","&$B$1,"")&IF(LEN(C2)>0,","&$C$1,"")
  5. Re: SQL statement VBA : need to ignore blank values

    maybe check for len(range("c9"))
if it is zero, use SQL ".. ProjectNo Is Not Null
otherwise stay with what you have
  6. Re: Password Protecting Worksheet from Viewing or Alternatives

I can't help on this, sorry.

I know nothing about sharepoint online nor the get data function.

Re: SUMIFS - Multiple columns at the same time?

With the data sorted - column A & row 1 - like the example, maybe this would be OK?
Use MATCH functions to identify the first row/column, and COUNTIF for how many rows/columns. Then SUM(OFFSET(range...

    Re: Faster way to loop

I was thinking faster in having the helper columns doing the work. Populated directly with a count. A SUM formula at the bottom of the helper column and all that the code - if needed at all - would...

    Re: Faster way to loop

24 columns! I hadn't read the question carefully enough to see that, Peter.
Sounds like a helper column or two could really make it much more efficient.
  12. Re: Password Protecting Worksheet from Viewing or Alternatives

A query can take data from 4 different workbooks, linking them together (exactly like a database query of 4 tables) to populate a table. Also, in a nearly identical approach, a pivot table can take...

    Re: Faster way to loop

If supported by your Excel version, instead of looping, have a look at using autofilter by color & then count the visible cells.
  14. Re: Password Protecting Worksheet from Viewing or Alternatives

    Welcome

Pretty much anything like that can be done.

Be aware though that as Excel security is limited, all users, if they try, can probably see everything.

Maybe a different approach can do...
  15. Re: VBA, make code move across from main file to extract file

  16. Re: VBA, make code move across from main file to extract file

Late in my day. I'll check back tomorrow.

I remember when I first started coding, worked all day Friday at work and then all night at home til the sun was up. Geez, it took a long, long, long time...
  17. Re: VBA, make code move across from main file to extract file

If it doesn't work, then we need to know why. Single step (F8) through the code in File B and see what is happening.
  18. Re: VBA, make code move across from main file to extract file

    Hi , Gerald

Maybe a different approach. What if to make file B, the VBA copies the ENTIRE file A then delete the worksheets you don't want?

    Re: Auto Filter Pivot table

In any version of Excel, the pivot table can be made from a dataset that comes from the two tables. The data extract and the list of project numbers. One way, is like

    SELECT fields
    FROM extract...
  21. Re: Can Microsoft Access improve efficiency for the task described? Advice needed

    hello jayped

From a quick reading, it seems there is a well defined process. As such, the work can be done efficiently in either MS Access or MS Excel. You just need someone knowledgeable in Excel...

  23. Re: Help with VALUE error when using a range of sheets in formula

if other approaches are of interest, and it suits, put all the data on one sheet. work more like a database. much simpler formulas
or have a pivot table or query table and work without any formulas.

Re: Wildcard for MSQuery not Working

Maybe the wrong wildcard for the database (being searched). Such as if MS Access, use % instead of *
