  1. Re: VBA anomaly when filtering table from Worksheet_Calculate

Yes, you are correct that I chose against using the SelectionChange event. I don't want to rely on, or impose upon the user that they select the worksheet in order to have the filters sync.

    The...
  2. Re: VBA anomaly when filtering table from Worksheet_Calculate

    Yongle, Thanks for the idea.

That would accomplish the task, however I think that's more complicated than my current workaround of filtering Table2 using a slicer.
  3. Re: VBA anomaly when filtering table from Worksheet_Calculate

Yes, I had tested that too.

I also tried adding a statement to Select a cell in Table2 prior to the filter statement, thinking that maybe Excel couldn't filter the table if another...
  4. Re: VBA anomaly when filtering table from Worksheet_Calculate

Hi Fluff, Thank you for confirming that you get the same behavior with xl2013.
  5. Re: VBA anomaly when filtering table from Worksheet_Calculate

My OP wasn't as clear as it could have been.

The code is supposed to filter Table2 when Table1 is filtered. It doesn't. It applies additional filters to Table1.
  6. Re: VBA anomaly when filtering table from Worksheet_Calculate

    Hi Yongle,

Thank you for all the thought you put into this. :)

Were you able to replicate the problem that I described? Using my original code, if I manually filter Table1 then this part of the...
  7. VBA anomaly when filtering table from Worksheet_Calculate

When the user filters Table1, my objective is to have Table2 on the same sheet filtered so that both tables have the same ID items visible.

Since VBA doesn't have an event that is triggered when a...

    Re: Rearrange Rows Within Columns

Hi Mick, Yes, the brute force approach would require testing require 13! * 5! combinations which is about 740 billion trials. ;)

I'm working on a branch and bound approach, but I'm still trying to...

    Re: Rearrange Rows Within Columns

Here's a clarification of what I think the OP is requesting.

As DSCfromCFA noted, the average of the totals is about 6,740, so the perfect solution would rearrange the numbers so that each row...
  10. Re: Pivot Table Drilldown - formatting, hidden columns, range instead of table

Do you know how to put a debug Break into your code then step through the execution of each line? That process usually reveals the problem.
  11. Re: Pivot Table Drilldown - formatting, hidden columns, range instead of table

Is the code not working when you put the module code in a separate module?

If not, what error or result is occurring?

    Re: Rearrange Rows Within Columns

    pepsibrandon,

Does the example you posted represent the number of columns and rows in the actual problems that you need to solve?

The amount of time it takes computers to solve this type of...
  13. Re: Pivot Table Drilldown - formatting, hidden columns, range instead of table

    Hi Neil,

You could either add the Module code to the bottom of your existing code module, or insert a new module into your project. To insert a new code module, right-click on any worksheet or...

    Re: Getting Data from PIVOT

Thank you for posting that example workbook. The pivot table and some of the ranges have moved since your Original Post, so that makes it a little harder to follow your comments above.

    Re: Autofilter using reference table

    Hi Sam,

You will want to use this syntax for autofiltering the range for a list of values:

    Range.AutoFilter Field:=20, Criteria1:=vArray, Operator:=xlFilterValues

    where vArray is an array...
  18. Re: VBA Code for Pivot Table Sum Field Invalid Qualifier

Sorry if my explanation was unclear.

Your procedure should work if you use this code in lieu of your original code:

    .Orientation =...

Will you please post the workbook with the pivot table to dropbox, after changing any confidential data to random values?
  20. Re: VBA Code for Pivot Table Sum Field Invalid Qualifier

That syntax for a With block is incorrect. The With keyword is used to reference an Object from a statement or multiple statements within the With block.

'Add item to the Data Field to either...

    Re: location from array

Try using Application.Match and Application.Index to find the cell, then Range.Address to get its address.

Just post the code you are trying if you aren't able to work that out and want some help.
