  1. Re: Change cell value on multiple worksheets using a wildcard

Thanks for the catch on the first code.
The second resvised one I posted right after that should be good though. I tested that one and it worked for me.
  2. Re: Change cell value on multiple worksheets using a wildcard

It worked for me. I made one minor change to declar the RESULT variable (because I have Option Explicit turned on).

    Private Sub Workbook_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean)

    Dim Result
    Dim...
  3. Re: Change cell value on multiple worksheets using a wildcard

It probably means that it did find one of the values on one of the sheets.
Use the updated version I posted in my last post, and it should skip those type of errors.

Re: List of Dates & Dynamic Name Range

OK, I was thinking you might be able to just use filters to pull the data that you need, but we can stick with what you what you are doing now.
So let's just try to build off what you have now.
    Can...

    Re: Access: Refresh DSUM Values

To expand upon my previous post, all bound queries have a data source (where the information is coming from). It is either a Table or a Query.
If it is a Query, all you need to do is add a...

Re: List of Dates & Dynamic Name Range

If you clear the data entries (and not actually delete the rows) each year, the named ranges would stay intact.
Then you wouldn't need to reset them every year. However, the leap year would still...

Re: If/Then statements with three outcomes

Yes, and I already did it in my previous reply:

    Select Case Len(TB.Value)
The LEN function checks the length (number of characters) of the value entry in your "TB" textbox.

    Try it out for...

    Re: Access: Refresh DSUM Values

    That shouldn't be necessary.

What is the Data Source for your Form (i.e. what is the Form based on)?
I assume it is a bound form, if you are returning data (I wouldn't think that they are ALL...
  10. Re: Change cell value on multiple worksheets using a wildcard

Just an improvement upon my previous reply. If you have 10 values like this you want to replace, you can store them in an array and loop through them (so you do not need a separate code block for...
  11. Re: Change cell value on multiple worksheets using a wildcard

You cannot change a whole range of cells at once for a single value like that.
You will need to use something like find, i.e.

    For Each ws In Worksheets
    ws.Replace What:="rateid*",...

Re: List of Dates & Dynamic Name Range

How are you named ranges being set?

Are you re-using this each year, and if so, what are you doing when you reset for each year?

Are you simply clearing the entries (but not deleting the rows),...

Re: If/Then statements with three outcomes

Sure, use a Case statement, i.e.

    Select Case Len(TB.Value)
    Case 0
    Set XXX
    Case 1
    Set YYY
    Case 2
    Set ZZZ
    Case Else

Re: Calling a Sub within the Main Macro

You CANNOT imbed one macro inside another. They would be two separate macros, and you would just call one from the other:

    Sub Format_Workbook_Pt2()
    Call ConvertTextToNumber
    End Sub

    Sub...

Re: An easier way than this to SQL update ?

It looks like you currently have 6 columns. It would be easy enough to loop through it without having to create the temporary v2 to v7 variables. However, building your code would be a bit...

You must remember, while you are very familiar with this problem because it is in front of you, all that we have to go on is what you have provided to us in this thread, and you have provided very...

    Re: Access: Refresh DSUM Values

Do the other DSUM calcs work?

Do you give thought to doing the calculation at the query level instead of the form level?
  18. Re: Spreadsheet incredibly slow when moving tabs

That really sounds like a database to me...

Perhaps this would be a good candidate for Power Pivots (which allows you to do some data grouping/summarizing).
I think that it handles large groups...
  19. Re: Spreadsheet incredibly slow when moving tabs

Then why so many tabs and formulas?
What kind of formulas are they?
    What do they look like?
  20. Re: Spreadsheet incredibly slow when moving tabs

This could be a clue that you may be using the wrong tool for the job.
It sounds to me that you may really have a relational database (lots of data related to each other). If that is the case, a...

Re: Challenging If/And statement help please

    Welcome to the Board!

If your dates are in cells A1, A2, and A3, try this formula:

    =IF(OR(AND(A1<=A3,A2=""),AND(A1<=A3,A2>=A3)),"Yes","No")
  22. Re: VBA-Macro Prevent Copy Paste in Data Validation Cell

I am sorry, but without the file and the details of EXACTLY what you are trying to copy, I don't think I can help further.
  23. Re: Show (2) Form Tabs Open when Access is Opened

You could use an "AutoExec" Macro (which runs when the database is opened), and have it open two Forms (though one will be displayed, and the other will be in the background).

    Alternatively, you...
  24. Re: VBA-Macro Prevent Copy Paste in Data Validation Cell

Without having access to the data file, and knowing exactly the range you are trying to copy, I really have no idea.

    Re: Access: Refresh DSUM Values

You said that you have "several" DSUMs on your Form. Is it just this one having this issue, or all of them?

I would recommend doing the calculation in the query you are using for the data source...
